(WW) Beef Cannelloni
WW Points: 5.5
WW Says: Rich beef and red wine filled cannelloni served with a creamy tomato, capsicum, zucchini and spinach ratatouille, finished with fresh parmesan.
Felicity Says:
In defense of WW, no company can make a frozen cannelloni look good when cooked.
As for the tasting: All of the individual components of the dish taste out of balance when tasted separately. The sauce is too sweet and the beef filling is too peppery. Eat them both together and you have a different taste creation. All components blend really nicely and make a very satisfying meaty-tomatoey meal. The lingering taste reminds me of a pre-made lasagna, which I guess essentially this dish is the same as, just presented differently.
Size wise the meal is nicely proportioned. If you where having this as a dinner meal, add a green salad and settle down for a nice night in.
Not a to-die-for meal, but something that is good to have on hand.
