(WW) Beef Burgundy
WW Points: 2
WW Says: Tender pieces of beef simmered in a classic red wine sauce with sliced onion, mushroom and garden vegetable.
Felicity Says:
What seemed like a great low point meal, turned into a really disappointing lunch time for me. The WW description is accurate, but I just find the sauce too rich and there is too much of it. It almost becomes like a rich dark soup – something I’d expect the creature of the black lagoon to come climbing out of. There could be so much more potential for this casserole inspired dish, but I think WW completely missed the mark. I really can’t verablise what I don’t like about it, I just overall think ‘yuck’.
I didn’t think I was going to finish this meal until I remember that I had some steamed rice left over and mixed that in (while adding the additional points!). This seemed to make it more enjoyable, and probably why I was so gracious to award an additional half a star in my rating.
The saving grace is that it is only 2 points.
Would I buy this again? Only if my life depended on it – maybe.
